Pre-Purchase Full Survey
Buying a boat is exciting, but it’s important to know exactly what you’re investing in.
A comprehensive assessment of the vessel including: the hull, deck and superstructure; mechanics and propulsion; operational systems; electrical and electronics; plumbing; rigging and sails; interior fit-out; tender and safety equipment.
Ideally this includes an in and out of water inspection and sea trial.
This thorough survey ensures the vessel meets expectations, and identifies potentially hidden major and minor defects—information that can be invaluable when negotiating the final purchase price.
Insurance Risk Survey and Valuation
Providing confidence in your vessel’s value, safety and seaworthiness.
Whether you are applying for a new policy or renewing an existing one, our professional insurance report and valuation is designed to satisfy insurers, finance companies, buyers, and brokers alike.
The report helps you determine the appropriate level of insurance coverage and highlights repair and maintenance issues that should be addressed before they develop into costly problems.
Valuation Survey
There are plenty of reasons you may need to know the value of your boat.
If you’re buying or selling, importing, exporting, financing, insuring or going through a settlement or legal dispute, our extensive, unbiased valuation report based on the “fair market value” system ensures you and other parties know the true value of your vessel in today’s market.
Condition Snapshot Survey
Get an idea of a vessel’s condition without the expense of a full survey.
This helps you decide whether to even make an offer—knowing a full survey can be done later. Relying solely on information from the seller or broker can waste your time and money.
When inspecting a vessel, having an expert with you can help identify any issues you might overlook. If you are interstate, overseas, or simply too busy, and want to know if a vessel is worth you inspecting in person, I can provide a brief report or conduct a live video walk through.
Sea trial
It’s impossible to know how well (or badly) a boat works without a sea trial.
A sea trial is highly recommended to be included in your pre-purchase full survey.
However, sometimes you might not need a survey, you just want an unbiased professional to accompany you on a sea trial of a boat you’re interested in. If you want that person to be someone with decades of experience handling sail and motor yachts of all shapes and sizes all over the word, I can help.
Scope of Survey
Every vessel and every survey is different, so let’s chat about what you need.
We’ll agree on the Scope of the Survey before I start work, because it’s important for both parties to be clear on the purpose of the survey, and to understand what will and won’t be covered in the report.
